Noticeboard

Our surgery is working in partnership with Public Health Scotland on the Community Acute Respiratory Infection (CARI) Programme.

This programme will allow Public Health Scotland to understand more about respiratory infections which are circulating in our local community.

If you present with acute respiratory symptoms, ie cough, sore throat or shortness of breath then you may be asked by one of our clinicians to have a swab taken to be tested by PHS.

Information provided will enable better data gathering and monitoring of the spread of respiratory viruses within Scotland. The swabs are sent to an laboratory and can check for viruses such as:

SARS-CoV-2, Flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)16, coronavirus (non-SARS-CoV-2), parainfluenza virus types 1, 2, 3 & 4, human metapneumovirus, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, rhinovirus, adenovirus
