CLOSURE NOTICE

Fri 29th March 2024 - Inverkeithing Centre will be closed all day. Dalgety Bay is open for pre-arranged appointments only. 

Mon 1st April 2024 - Both Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay are open for pre-arranged appointments only.

On both days, the telephones will be transferred to the out of hours service who are covering same day urgent requirements.

Please ensure you order your medication early if you are due to run out over this period

Antenatal - Run by community midwives at Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay Surgeries.

Patients who have a positive pregnancy test can complete an online referral form found at www.nhsfife.org/maternity for more information or phone 01592 643355 ext 28374 Mon to Fri between 10am and 12noon. Once registered a midwife will be in touch to provide all the information and support you need to guide you through your pregnancy.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner Service

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANPs) Service is available Mon-Fri 9am – 5.00pm.

 

 

They will:

 

  • Triage patients who feel that they have a problem that needs to be dealt with urgently and arrange appropriate management. (The receptionist will take your initial call and pass details on to the ANP who will call you back. Please be available for the call back).
  • Undertake home visits for patients who are housebound.

If you need to use this service please call between 9am and 4pm to allow us time to make arrangements for you to be seen in the surgery if clinically necessary. Please do not call after 4pm unless it is an emergency.

 

Practice Pharmacist

Our practice pharmacist supports the GPs in their day to day medicine-related tasks such as:

  • Issuing acute prescriptions where it is appropriate to continue treatment
  • Reviewing repeat medicines to ensure they can be continued safely
  • Updating repeat medicines following changes on discharge from hospital or a hospital clinic review appointment
  • Providing advice to patients, carers and other healthcare professionals on the safe and effective use of medicines
  • Carrying out medicine reviews with patients, particularly those taking lots of medicines every day
  • Ensuring patients get the recommended treatment for their condition which also makes best use of NHS Fife resources

 

Her working hours vary throughout the week but she will be in the Practice every day and can be contacted by leaving a message with Reception Staff

Treatment Room

Treatment room procedures such as blood tests, suture removal and wound dressings require allocated times. Please indicate to the receptionist which service you require.

BP Pod(Service suspended temporarily)

The practice has an automated blood pressure machine situated at Dalgety Bay Surgery, in a private space.

It works similarly to the touch screen check-in terminal and is straight forward and easy to use.

Patients can use the BP Pod at any time when the surgery is open.

Family Planning / Sexual Health

A full confidential service is available. This includes coil fitting, implanon fitting, emergency contraception, pre-conception advice, Chlamydia screening and blood tests.
